MUSLIMGAUZE-Abu Dis
It's been noticed that many bootleg versions of "abu Dis", the Muslimgauze DOR compilation of remixes he did for Spooncurve, Moondogg, Pearl, Luke Vibert, Doppler 20:20, Talvin Singh and others, have appeared for sale on the net.
These bootlegs often appear with "limited to 300, collectors edition" printed on the back. They are poor quality, and the artists, Muslimgauze's estate, record company and chosen charity do not benefit from these sales.
DOR are planning another run for "abu Dis", with slight changes, and keeping the original enhanced video piece from the original compilation.

SPOONCURVE "rivers run dry" lyrics
SPOONCURVE "Rivers run dry"- are friends symmetric
Fantasy ends
lost and alone
so cold,
the bitterness I feel
love is so real
oh, for just a day
I never wanted it this way
life is so, oh so, oh so,
so may tears
all my fears, all my fears,
you could have swept them all away
oh, for just a day
I never wanted it this way
never a moment, never a moment...
I don't think of you, think of you, and,
I detest what I've become...and...
all the things that I've done
all the things that I've done
oh, for just a day
I never wanted it this way
rivers run dry
people pass by...

Spooncurve-Hurt me, I'm yours-lyrics
Hurt me, I'm yours
Your dirty looks
I kinda like your feel
the way you speak
is so unreal
your birthsign
doesn't do you any wrong
shouldn't be like this, but,
I blame it on the blond
hurt me, I'm yours
your beck and call
so fanciful
if you push
maybe,I'll pull
at your whim and pleasure
your delight
I better wash my hands
so the nails shine bright
hurt me, I'm yours
give me cold fever, honey
give me, those razor eyes
say you'll never leave me
because I love your lies
skinless dreams of angels
my list is far too long
reason melts, but
I must be strong
hurt me, hurt me, I'm yours.

SPOONCURVE-Candlewax
SPOONCURVE "candlewax"-are friends symmetric
she shivers alone
no one around
counts the hours,
in candlewax drops
the days go by, nights draw in,
memories,
of softest sin
breathes a sigh "why oh why, was it me? was it him?"
the silken lie
streets of jasper call her name
in candlewax drops
dizzy heights, full stops.
candlewax drops
so harmless, before the curtains drawn....

Kate Bush-AERIAL
After 12 years since "the red shoes", I bought my copy of Kates double album {only just, it comes in at 78 mins in total} "aerial".
Beautifully crafted package, the album kicks off on disc one with the strong single "king of the mountain" followed by the wonderfull "pi" and the disc ends with one of the strongest tracks "the coral room". In between we can hear the usual KB quirkyness, songs about washing machines {obviously with a little more depth than singing about mere washing appliances!}, a track about her son Berty, which probably means little to anyone but herself, all very nice, all very non offensive.
Disc two is much more like Kate of old in my opinion, more conceptual than disc one, and drifts from ambient ballad through "intelligent" drum and bass {circa 1996!}, with the odd birdsong, flamenco, Rolf Harris and studio trickery we usually associate with Kate.Nice to hear two of my favourite bass players on the same album again, Ebehard Weber and John Giblin.
All in all, I like it. Not her best work, but then I doubt anything she does now could compare with such masterpieces as "hello Earth" etc...at times I felt she didn't "push the boat out", and her vocals, while still excellent, were more reserved...some of the compositions remind me of Jane Sibery.
I think it will grow on me, but I do think it's average for her work...but then an average Kate Bush album is still better than most other albums out there.
